After buying a 2018 Dodge 2500 truck, the finance department pushed a $2000 maintenance agreement that I would receive back. After fighting for a year of the use some BS fine print that said I had waited too long to apply and told me I wasnt getting the money back. JD Deno is the most incompetent salesman I have ever worked with, and I have bought over a dozen new truck in my life. ZERO customer service. They won't give me any updates or answers on my truck which was ordered 6 moths ago, when I was told it would take 6-8 weeks. It is supposedly sitting in a lot in Michigan for over 4 months waiting on a chip. GMC.com is just as useless as the dealer and wont even give me the name of their CES. This will be the one and only vehicle I will buy from Dave Smith ever. JD Deno has ensured that.

I purchased a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Sport from Dave Smith Motors on September 3, 2021. I have purchased vehicles from them before and have never had any issues or complaints, and that's why I choose to purchase from them again. Only 2 months and 14 days after purchasing, I went in to have the oil changed as it was due from when Dave Smith Motors last had it done. I was told the oil change could not be performed since the oil filter housing is cracked. Which means when Dave Smith Motors had this vehicle they either ignored this issue while they performed their very detailed inspection or when they had the oil changed by one of their technicians, that technician torqued the housing filter too hard and it cracked the seal itself and did not report it to his/her supervisor. I called Dave Smith Motors and talked to their management and all he could say was" That is why we push the extended warranty is for such cases as this". So you can get more money out of me by extorting your customers by causing damage to a vehicle than selling it...that is not right. I am very disappointed and ashamed in Dave Smith Motors for at least offering to helping with a partial cost of this $860.00 repair that they caused or knew about

Company not very organized or honest?

Customer service second to everyone is a good analogy. I contacted them about a 2021 or 2022 chevy spark.

they say they can pre order. Then they never call about pre order. But i do get too many salespeople to mention trying to sell me used sparks at very high prices. I also stated I only want a spark ls or LT , stick preferred.

I am asked If i would like a "jeep" a 40 k car?

maybe a Silverado? lol

I asked for a new spark. I also know what msrp is on sparks. I was quoted a higher price on a 2015 spark then what i paid for my 2015 spark new 6 years ago.

They then tell me they have the lowest prices in the nation.

One person told me i would still have to pay tax, even though i live in Montana.

Cmon man, Im 67 years of age. I am not going to buy what I do not want

Warn people about the dealership

I found a truck I wanted online. Called to buy and I couldn't believe how hard it was to get all the info and the total cost.

took almost 30 days to complete the deal. Since out of state I had it shipped. When It got here the hard cover for the bed was placed inside with no mounting hardware. Was told there was a recall and don't know when the parts are coming in.

I would have bought it closer to me. That was one of the packages I wanted in a truck and they were the only ones with it in stock. Was told not to use it until fixed which has no eta. Sherry Quick there customer service manager called me and they were willing to buy me a new aftermarket bed cover so I can use my truck for work the reason I bought it.

Well they said the parts were in stock so I wasted 2 days dropping my truck off at my local Chevy dealer. Well the parts for my truck are still on back order and no eta. been trying to contact Dave Smith Motors for two weeks. Guess what , Sherry Quick there customer service manager won't return my phone calls now.

left 3 messages over 2 weeks and she won't call me back.

NEVER will buy a truck from them again. That's what happens when you don't buy local and they really don't care about customer service.

Knowingly sold me a truck with blown head gasket

I found a 1 ton Ram dually 4 x 4 at Dave Smith motors in Kellogg Idaho. I spent two weeks making arrangements to drive or fly from the Olympic Peninsula to look at and or buy this truck. I ended up renting a car and driving over because of the virus. I was invested enough that I bought a gooseneck trailer, Making it possible to use the 1 ton Dually to also bring back a half ton ram truck. I arrived to find the subject truck with airbag lights engine lights oil leaks antifreeze leaks etc. I should’ve left. I had already purchased a gooseneck trailer and had it delivered there and it was going to create a lot of problems if I did not find a way to negotiate a warranty to protect me in the event of a major problem. I pointed out the problems with the truck and it was sent to the service center. Meanwhile I spent all day waiting around for this list of issues to be corrected. The service center did a pressure test, or so they said, and claimed that there was no anti-freeze leak but they changed a thermostat. I said I would take the truck as long as pre-existing conditions were taken care of if there was a problem. I went to the financing department and was then told that I could not buy a warranty because the truck had been deleted . I didn’t even know what deleted meant and I had not been told about this before I left to make a 490 mile drive. The Management? discounted the truck a couple thousand dollars because I was not able to buy a warranty. I was still led to believe that pre-existing conditions would be taken care of. That only makes sense. I headed back west and the truck started leaking immediately out of the head gasket at the front of the engine. I made it within 10 miles Of home before the leak became so bad I had to get friends to help get the 2 trucks and trailer home. The whole time I was headed west with problems I was texting with the dealership and they kept telling me that if I got stuck to call them they would handle it, that they had my back, not to worry, and a whole long list of other assurances that I’d be taking care of. The truck was taken to the local ram dealership where it was confirmed that the head gasket was blown and would need to be replaced plus have the head shaved. Dave Smith motors refused to take care of the airbag sensor that they had already agreed to fix, They refused to take care of the oil leak, and more than anything and worst of all they refuse to step up to the plate as promised and pay for the head gasket to be replaced. So I now have a $20,000 loan to pay on and a dead truck in the yard needing $2500 worth of repair and all of a sudden Dave Smith motors is nowhere to be found won’t return my calls. I am a disabled veteran living on a stupidly small fixed income and cannot afford to fix this lemon. Dave Smith Motors is doing me dirty. They assuerd me that pre-existing conditions could be fixed at my local dealer. Now they say if I don’t have it in writing I am out of luck. One word: CHEESEBALL. Ok, maybe that’s 2 words... I will update this review should DSM decide to do the right thing as promised.

What a fiasco I would not recommend buying a truck from Dave Smith drove 7 hours deal already made get up there salesperson States be about half an hour paperwork wrong 6 hours later finally signing paperwork not treated well a state customer service is their number one well it's not everybody around us were skinning free hats free coffee mugs free floor mat everything we weren't offered 1 thing I would not recommend buying from them

Shifty salesmen

I traded in my 2007 Ram for a 2018 Ram. The salesmans name was Pete. At first he seemed ok, then I caught him in a couple of lies. And then the next time we talked, he tried to give me $2000 dollars less than the first offer On my trade in, (stating he lost my paper work, when I called him on it, he all the sudden found it.) then I ordered leather on the seats, and the whole team screwed all that up. The highs and lows they put me through made me cancel my order and ask for my down payment back, and to stop everything. Then after several phone calls, starting with the manager, then the guy in charge of upholstering the seats, and back to the salesman Pete, they made several promises, ( LATER TO BE BROKEN.)I agreed to go ahead and go through with the deal. This was the second vehicle I bought from them, it was by far the worst vehicle buying experience of my life. Im writing this to warn new buyers. Because if these are the type of people Dave Smith Motors wishes to employ, buyer beware.

my son was looking for a new used car went to Dave Smith auto met a salesman named Mike found one they liked called me said check engine light was on I told him not to buy it MIke said he would fix it said he ran the code and it was just the air flow censor. so they decided to go ahead and get the car after being there for quite sometime my son and his wife and their brand new baby were all pretty tired by then. THEN Mike tells them he "accidently" cleared the code but it was alright because if anything went wrong they could bring it back and they would fix it, so they signed the papers yes there was a verbal agreement, but these kids live 6 1/2 hours away and are trying to move to phoenix Arizona with is another 13HRS away well the check engine light came back on and it's going to be over $1,000 to fix they refuse to let anyone else fix because they supposedly are the only ones smart enough to do this refuse to let another dealership do the work. I tried to talk to them after getting the run around on their phone system and being transferred , and calling different numbers finally talked to mike who seems like a typical used car salesman said he would have a manager call me still haven't heard from anyone. oh and be careful when they tell you that you should finance through them we wanted to just pay cash for the car and have my son make the payments to us mike tried to pressure them not to do that. the real reason why is because they get a commission on that also

Bought a 2019 Jeep around June 30 2019, had a problem on the way home (check engine) turned around went back. Spent the night they paid for hotel and dinner. Finally after robbing the part off another Jeep, I finally made it home. Mind you I’ve bought around six Rams and jeeps from them. Never had and problems before, Drove for two days went to Hawaii for a week, got home drove for 4 days flew to Georgia for sons basic training Graduation. Got home drive for two days an the instrument cluster in dash went out. Part was back ordered until 9/4. Needless to say it still sitting in the shop waiting for the part. We are going on 7 weeks it’s been there. I’ve called Dave Smith several times I’ve called Chrysler several times nobody seems to think this is a problem. No call backs no emails just a lot of hurry up and waiting but keep making those payments and insurance payments. I didn’t want to put this out there but I’m at my wits end here and not sure what to do. Chrysler has made a claim but hasn’t called or notified me of anything. Helpless in Oregon

I have bought a couple cars at dave smith with minimal issues. When i bought bwfore with nancy herold the experience was amazing. I love her. This time however i brought my 18 year old daughter in to get her first new or really new used car. Long story short she found a car that she liked did all the financing on June 8th walked out with a car and signed paperwork. She did have a trade-in that needed to be paid off through a bank she was five days from the due date on her car payment but was told as long as they paid it off within the 10-day. Off that she would be fine needless to say 20 days after the car was bought the loan was still not paid off on the trade we've been called Dave Smith who told us that the financing did not go through on her first car and that they were trying to figure out how to get her different financing it took us calling to figure this out. Now with my daughter's car payment late and almost 30 days late I called numerous times to figure out what was going on was given the runaround for days then finally went in and signed with a new bank assured by Rich that this was going to be a way better deal than the last time there would be no issues I would be there in my referral bonus for bringing her in there and that everything was completely done 10 days after this I had to call again and figure out where the trade money was after the run around for a few days I decided to go in there and personally pick up a check I was told that I had one hour to get in there to get the check before they closed or they wouldn't know what was going to happen with it mean while Rich was getting very angry already that the situation. Thankfully I thought everything was over until my referral fee never came I called for a week straight asking for somebody to call me back to tell me where the referral fee was nobody would call back my husband and daughter decided to go into Dave Smith was told that there was a mistake and that they could come pick up the check the next day the next day we called spoke with Rich who then got irritated that we were calling to figure out what was going on told us he would call us back. An hour later after no call we decided to call him who the receptionist said he was busy I said I would hold until I could talk to him and then finally put me through because he wasn't busy he picked up the phone decided to get angry at the whole situation even though it was not my fault it was his fault and pretty much told me that it was free money to me so well we will see if the check actually comes.

First of all, my partner and I went in to look at vehicles. One of the salesmen, Kyle Galaz, kept staring at my partner. She felt extremely uncomfortable.He had a sleezy smile at her and being flirtatious with her. When we got up to go out, he brushed up against her backside with his front side, completely inappropriate and full on sexual harassment. Be aware. This is very wrong. Their vehicles are overpriced and they try to upsell you on everything. This is wrong but still not as wrong as the sexual harassment we faced. Go elsewhere. We finally did.
